Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare, old time example of acanthite and fluorite from Santa Eulalia!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of
colorless fluorite in association with complex crystals of silvery gray acanthite!!! The fluorite crystals
are difficult to discern in the pics, but this specimen hosts broad areas covered with colorless cubic fluorite crystals!!! Many of the crystals
have complex, slightly rounded modifications upon close inspection!!! There are numerous
significant areas of acanthite present throughout the specimen!!! The acanthite is present in close association with the
fluorite crystals and consists of highly complex crystals as well as silvery coatings on the fluorite crystals!!! Upon
close inspection, there are some significant areas of chlorargyrite present as thin crusts of beige colored material as well!!!
Interestingly, there appear to be some areas of the matrix that may be a mixture of intergrown chlorargyrite and microcrystalline
fluorite!!! This is an incredible and rare OLD time silver ore specimen from this classic Mexican locality!!!
This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineralogical Museum!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 12th!!!
