Acanthite with Fluorite Koryu mine (Kohryu mine), Ishikari Province, Hokkaido, Japan 1.9cm x 1.56cm x 1.2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An incredible, old time example of acanthite from Japan!!! This specimen hosts numerous, complex crystals of silvery acanthite in association with small fluorite crystals on matrix!!! The acanthite crystals exhibit highly complex forms with well defined cubo-octahedral features and bright silvery metallic luster!!! It is difficult to distinguish the few small fluorite crystals scattered about because they have a silvery coating of microns-thin acanthite!!! Upon close inspection one can see the sharp cubic form, stepped faces, and slight translucence of the fluorite crystals!!! There is also a very small amount of chlorargyrite present as well!!! This is an exceptional example of the species for this rare old Japanese locale!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
