Acanthite with Native Silver Keeley-Frontier Mine, Cobalt-Gowganda region, Timiskaming District, Ontario, Canada 9.44cm x 5.2cm x 2cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of acanthite from this classic Canadian locality!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of solid acanthite!!! This specimen consists of dense network of highly complex acanthite crystals with several areas of bright, tin white native silver in association!!! The acanthite crystals exhibit all manner of curious forms upon close inspection!!! The native silver is present as thick, stout wires and masses that are intimately associated with the acanthite crystals!!! Upon close inspection one can find some tiny areas of smaltite on the reverse, as well as a few small areas of massive pyrargyrite as well!!! This is an amazing specimen in person!!!
