Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time combination of native silver, acanthite, and polybasite from Germany!!! Let me start by saying that this specimen
is way better than the pictures show!!! This specimen consists of a complex cluster of acanthite and polybasite crystals that have
been partially replaced by native silver!!! There is much more dimension and structure to this specimen than it appears in the pics, and there is a lot more to see
than the pictures show!!! In addition to the native silver that is replacing the other crystals, there are
numerous wires of native silver scattered about as well!!! There are numerous complex acanthite crystals present - some have
highly complex habits, some are more classic cubo-octahedral forms, a few have curiously hollowed out forms, and some are partially
replaced by native silver!!! The largest polybasite crystal present has been almost entirely replaced by native silver, as are the several smaller polybasite
crystals in close association!!! There are a few smaller polybasite crystals scattered about that are unaltered as well!!! There
are possibly some other species in association as well!!! This is a most unusual specimen indeed - the native silver replacements are not mere "coatings" of silver but
actual, solid replacements or pseudomorphs!!! Simply an incredible old time example of native silver, acanthite and polybasite
from Germany!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY OCTOBER 20th!!!
