Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of native gold with aikinite from Russia!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts numerous prismatic crystals of aikinite in association with buttery yellow native gold!!! The aikinite crystals are darkly colored, however many of them have a cream colored to green colored coating!!! The native gold has a rich deep golden hue!!! This specimen comes from the famed Russian collection of William Shelton that was donated to the Seaman Museum!!! The specimen retains old labels from the Philadelphia Academy of Sciences, the Seaman Museum (with Shelton notation), and an old unattributed label that predates them all!!!
