Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of this sought after gem species from Zimbabwe!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, complete sixling twin alexandrite crystal!!!
The crystals have marked translucence with several small areas showing marked clarity!!! This specimen has
EMERALD GREEN COLOR in sunlight and full-spectrum fluorescent lighting!!! I must say however that this specimen
does not show up this color purple in person!!! For some reason the digital
camera shows the specimen as being bright purple when, to the human eye, it is a more grayish color with an
odd purplish-greenish hue!!! However, the sunlight/emerald green color is pronounced and significant in
person!!! Under incandescent lighting the specimen has a curious purplish-bluish green-gray color!!! The
pictures taken of this specimen were taken with full spectrum/sunlight (emerald green pics) and with incandescent
lighting (purple pics)!!! Bottom line - this specimen has rich emerald green color and marked color change (but does not show up purple)!!! Color aside,
this is a magnificent crystal - exhibiting the classic sixling twinning this species is so famous for!!! Classic, old time Fort Victoria material!!!
Simply a fantastic example of this sought after gem species!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
