Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of gem almandine garnet from Pennsylvania!!! This specimen consists of a quartz matrix that hosts a striking single crystal of gem almandine garnet in association with muscovite!!! The almandine crystal is sharp, glassy, and gemmy with rich red color!!! The muscovite crystal is actually quite gemmy when viewed on edge as well!!! This is OLD material that likely dates back to the 19th century (old museum stock, simply labelled as Delaware Co.)!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
