Description/Interesting Notes: A rare example of almandine garnet from the Holy Grail of garnet localities - the Russell Garnet Mine!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of large, intergrown almandine crystals!!! The crystals have sharp, bold faces that range in color from very dark to an attractive reddish brown!!! This specimen displays fantastically from numerous angles!!! This specimen was recently acquired in a small lot of old, turn of the century New England classics and retains an old, handwritten label with references to the affixed catalogue numbers!!!
