Description/Interesting Notes: A gorgeous example of almandine garnet from this classic locality!!! This specimen hosts a single, sharp crystal of almandine prominently perched on a schist matrix!!! The almandine crystal is unusually fine for the locality!!! Most almandine crystals from Wrangell Island are dark, nearly opaque, and poor condition - however this crystal has sharp, glassy faces, rich ruby red color, and gemmy clarity!!!
