Description/Interesting Notes: A gorgeous example of almandine garnet from this classic locality!!! This specimen hosts a single, sharp crystal of almandine prominently perched on a schist matrix!!! The almandine crystal is unusually fine for the locality!!! Most almandine crystals from Wrangell Island are dark, nearly opaque, and poor condition - however this crystal has sharp, glassy faces, rich ruby red color, and gemmy clarity!!! Rarely does one find crystals of such quality from this classic old locality!!! This specimen is the second of two incredible specimens we recently obtained in an old collection - don't miss out!!!
