A classic example of almandine garnet in muscovite from North Carolina!!! This specimen
consists of a thin section of muscovite that hosts numerous gemmy ruby red almandine garnet crystals!!! The
almandine crystals exhibit an extremely compressed habit that is the result of having
formed under pressure between planes of muscovite!!! This crystals are highly lustrous,
GEM clear, and have exceptional, choice color!!! This specimen is UNBELIEVABLE in person!!!
Simply an incredible example of this classic occurence!!! Rarely does one see almandine
crystals of such size and quality in these unusual specimens!!! The crystals actually have
slightly convex faces - making them appear like gemmy buttons that also act as a
natural lenses!!! You can also see sharp faces on the edges of the crystals as well!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen
retains its original Wintringham collection label!!!
