Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutely magnificent example of almandine garnet from this famed historic locality!!! These sharp, characteristic
almandine garnet crystals were came from a small find in the late 1800's!!! The locality produced a small number of extraordinary specimens and
then was literally "mined out" in short order!!! The tiny pegmatite pod that produced this material literally no longer exists!!!
Specimens from this famous historic find are very scarce and highly sought after by collectors today!!! This is a magnificent specimen that
is loaded with sharp, characteristic crystals of almandine garnet to over 2.3cm on a matrix of quartz and muscovite!!! The crystals
are sharp, complete, and in magnificent condition all around!!! Simply a killer example of this "Holy Grail" New England mineral specimen!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 29th!!!
