Description/Interesting Notes: A classic example of almandine garnet from Austria!!! This specimen hosts a trio of almandine garnet crystals to 2.4cm aesthetically perched on a schist matrix!!! Unlike some of these old time specimens, this specimen is in magnificent condition and has not been polished or "touched up" in any way!!! The crystals have sharp faces, rich brownish red color, and marked translucence!!! Curiously, the brownish mineral in the schist appears to be a complex aggregate of almandine crystals as well!!!
