Description/Interesting Notes: An extremely rich example of altaite and native gold from the Tobourn Mine in Canada!!! This specimen hosts an impressively rich showing of brilliant, silvery altaite and buttery yellow native gold both in and on a quartz matrix!!! The altaite is richly distributed throughout the specimen and consists of rich veins, significant masses, and crystalline segments!!! The altaite is intimately associated with a rich distribution of buttery yellow native gold!!! The border between the two species shows a curious blue iridescence that is quite interesting upon close examination!!! A copy of the altaite's analysis will also be provided with this specimen!!! There are quite possibly some other tellurides in minor association as well!!! This specimen is absolutely magnificent in person - the pics don't even come close to capturing just how rich it is!!!
