Description/Interesting Notes:
An extremely rich example of altaite and native gold from the Tobourn Mine in Canada!!! This specimen hosts an
impressively rich showing of brilliant, silvery altaite in association with buttery yellow native gold both in
and on a quartz matrix!!! The altaite is richly distributed throughout the specimen and consists of rich veins,
and significant masses!!! There are some very large crystalline cleavages on this specimen as well as numerous unusual crystalline features visible upon close examination!!!
This is the largest and richest specimen I acquired from this find - it is simply amazing in person!!! The altaite is intimately associated with a rich distribution of buttery yellow native
gold!!! A copy of the altaite's analysis will also be provided with this specimen!!! There are quite
possibly some other tellurides in minor association as well!! Curiously, there are areas on the surface
of this specimen have an unusual, natural "slickenside"
appearance as well!!! This specimen is absolutely magnificent in person -
the pics don't even come close to capturing just how rich it is!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS
WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY APRIL 29th!!!
