Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent, old time example of altaite from New Mexico!!! This specimen hosts a very rich showing of altaite throughout!!! This specimen is absolutely loaded with bright, metallic altaite!!! One can see significant areas of altaite on every side of this specimen!!! There are large, dense masses of altaite, veins of altaite, and scattered grains of altaite to be seen throughout the specimen!!! The altaite has a bright, tin white metallic luster although there are some areas where it has a slightly golden patina as well!!! The characteristic cleavage of the altaite can be seen throughout and it appears there may be some other minor tellurides in association as well!!! Simply a magnificent, rich old time altaite from New Mexico!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
