Native Silver var. Amalgam

Allakh-Yun', Saha Republic (Yakutia), Eastern-Siberian Region, Russia

4.5cm x 3.7cm x 1.7cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A rare, old time example of native silver var. amalgam from this seldom referenced Russian locale!!! This specimen hosts a thick, broad sheet of native silver var. amalgam (mercury-rich silver) on a darkly colored matrix!!! The native silver has a bright, tin-white metallic brilliance and there is some unidentified tan colored mineral in association!!! Upon close inspection with a loupe or scope, one can see some small areas of oriented crystalline features scattered about!!! There is a small amount of silver on the reverse as well!!! This specimen retains an old Forrest Cureton label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY MAY 24th!!!
