Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of amblygonite var. hebronite from the varietal type locality in Maine!!! Hebronite is a rare, low sodium varietal of amblygonite!!! This specimen consists of an albite matrix that hosts a significant showing of amblygonite var. hebronite in association with some dark greenish blue tourmaline!!! The amblygonite var. hebronite is present as lustrous, platy crystals with slight translucence and tan color!!! This specimen is from the collection of Dr. A.L. Sherk and retains an old handwritten label as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
