Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of amethyst from Rio Grande do Sul!!! This specimen consists of an amethyst geode that hosts a dense distribution of needle-like goethite crystals partially included within the amethyst crystals and covered in microcrystalline quartz crystals!!! The effect is quite stunning in person!!! In addition to the spikey protrusions from the amethyst crystals, there is also a glistening lattice-work of quartz encrusted goethite needles resting against a small cluster of calcite crystals!!!
