Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic, old time example of amethyst from this historic locale!!! This specimen consists of a
complex, doubly terminated floater crystal of amethyst!!! The specimen has
gorgeous purple color (the color
is way better than the pics show - and much more sharply defined as well) that is concentrated in sharply defined
areas in the terminations!!! The clarity ranges from translucent to gemmy!!!
There are also some accents of smoky quartz scattered about as well!!!
The crystal is a complete floater and shows a highly complex network of
crystal faces on the reverse!!! Aside from the ding on the termination, the specimen is complete and
otherwise in terrific condition!!! The purple color and sharply defined zoning is quite striking in person!!!
Way better than the pics show!!! Classic, old time material!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! This specimen is from the collection
of Tony Nikischer!!! We just acquired the 6000+ specimen PERSONAL collection of Tony Nikischer and there are going to be
some very exciting minerals to come in the upcoming days and weeks!!! Prior to the Nikischer collection this specimen was
originally from the collection of Florence Mecke (acquired from the late 1930's until the 1970's)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
