Amethyst Pelham, Hampshire Co., Massachusetts 3.5cm x 3cm x 2.4cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of amethyst from this long defunct locality!!! This specimen consists of a complex single crystal of light purple amethyst!!! The crystal is actually doubly terminated with highly complex modifications and etching!!! This crystal is sharp, undamaged, and complete all around!!! The pics harldy do it justice!!! This locality was mentioned in Dana's Catalogue of American Mineral Localities (1892)!!! This specimen retains a previous dealer label that indicates it was collected circa 1895!!!
