A terrific example of amethyst from Mexico!!! This specimen consists of a single, striking amethyst crystal in association with several other
tiny amethyst crystals!!! The amethyst crystal has razor-sharp faces, brilliant glassy luster, gemmy clarity, and choice rich purple color!!! This specimen
is in magnificent condition and displays fantastically!!! This specimen is from the Wolfgang Pohl collection and retains his original label (with characteristic specimen sketch on the reverse)!!!
Wolfgang Pohl worked in the mining industry in Namibia in the 70s and 80s and was a
prolific collector and dealer during and after this time!!! He would make trips back
and forth to his native Germany trading specimens he had acquired in Africa for
worldwide specimens!!! Pohl was rather meticulous with his labeling and record keeping
with most of the specimens in the collection having catalogue numbers, label with info
on locale, source/dealer info, acquisition date, and any other relevant notes!!! However,
the most interesting feature is that most of the labels also had a small sketch of the
specimen on the reverse side as well!!!
