Description/Interesting Notes:
An absolutley extraordinary example of anatase from Switzerland!!! This incredible, old time beauty consists
of a highly complex crystal of brilliant yellow-orange anatase in association with two sharp, complex discs of rutile
crystals!!! The anatase crystal has razor-sharp, complex faces with outrageously brilliant luster!!! The crystal
has intense and lively orange-yellow color and clarity that ranges from translucent to near gemmy!!!
The anatase crystal is complete and pristine all around!!! The crystal is punctured by two complex
blades of complexly crystalline rutile and also hosts an area of partially included
chlorite crystals and a line of fine, micaceous crystals on the reverse!!! This specimen
is AMAZING in person!!!
It is of incredible size for any locality - let alone an old Swiss anatase crystal!!! This is truly
a world-class example of the species!!! The pictures don't even
come close to capturing just how showy and impressive
this rare gem is!!! This specimen retains an old label from the A.E. Seaman Mineral Museum with
notation that it had been acquired from L.L. Hubbard (1849-1933)!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
