Andradite "Rainbow" Garnet Kohse mine, Tenkawa village, Yoshino-gun, Nara Prefecture, Kinki Region, Honshu Island, Japan 1.22cm x .95cm x .94cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of andradite from Japan!!! These "rainbow" andradite garnets from the Kohse Mine exhibit a incredible rainbow-like iridescence within them!!! This specimen consists of a pair of conjoined andradite crystals that exhibit particularly lively rainbow iridescence visible all over the specimen!!! The crystals also have marked clarity as well - with rich reddish brown color!!! There are numerous faces and complex features that really show off this unique rainbow iridescence in dramatic fashion, however it is difficult to capture such a dynamic feature in the pictures!!! The rainbow color is present as sharply defined zones and layers throughout the crystals - there is a LOT of iridescence to be seen on this specimen in person!!! This is truly amazing material!!! These unique and unusual specimens are getting next to impossible to find!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
