A fantastic example of andradite from Japan!!! These "rainbow" andradite garnets from the
Kohse Mine exhibit a curious rainbow-like sheen within them!!! This specimen consists of a
cluster of sharp andradite crystals featuring several relatively large crystals for the
locality!!! Clusters of these crystals are rather uncommon since most groups readily fall
apart into single crystals soon after they are collected!!! This is an impressive Kohse Mine
specimen indeed - it was the most iridescent one of a small handful of specimens we acquired from a Japanese
dealer in Tucson!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
