Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique and colorful example of andradite garnet from Canada!!! This specimen consists of a single floater crystal of demantoid
garnet!!! The crystal has a complex habit with sharp, lustrous
faces!!! The crystal has some fine inclusions that give it a uniform translucence throughout!!! The color is an intense lime green in person -
however, as is often the case with this species, the digital camera captured it as blue - the only way I could get it remotely close was by taking the pictures using
full spectrum fluorescent lighting - so PLEASE NOTE: This specimen's color is a bright lime green in person and not quite as bluish as the pics show!!! The color
of this specimen is truly unique in person and this was one of just two such specimens from this locality that were in Wendy Melanson's
(of Hawthorneden) collection!!! Luckily, since she had two she was willing to part with this one!!! This specimen is complete and undamaged!!! The
pics don't even come close to doing it justice!!! An incredibly unique specimen indeed!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
