Andradite Garnet with Diopside Marki Khel, Spin Ghar range, Khogyani District, Nangarhar Province, Afghanistan 3.53cm x 1.46cm x .91cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnficent combination of andradite garnet and diopside from Afghanistan!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, single crystal of deep green diopside that is selectively coated with lustrous andradite garnet crystals on one side!!! This handsome combination is further punctuated by the largest andradite crystal being prominently perched atop the diopside crystal's steep termination!!! The diopside crystal has sharp glassy faces, marked clarity and rich, deep green color with handsome fiery flashes of green within!!! The andradite crystals are sharp, glassy, and have deep yellow green color!!! The specimen is complete and undamaged all around!!! The specimen is lustrous, sharp, and displays gorgeously in person - it is WAY better than the pics show!!! The specimen appears to be a complete floater as well (the bottom of the diopside crystal is coated with tiny, almost microcrystalline andradite crystals)!!! A striking combo indeed!!!
