Chromian Antigorite Wood's Chrome Mine (Wood's Mine), Texas, Little Britain Township, Lancaster Co., Pennsylvania 4.2cm x 2.7cm x 1.5cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic example of chromian antigorite from Pennsylvania!!! These specimens are often mislabelled as kammererite, however they are actually chromian antigorite!!! This specimen consists of a handsome mass of purple colored chromian antigorite in association with a small amount of jet-black chromite!!! The specimen exhibits a handsome network of parallel associated crystals that exhibit marked translucence!!! The crystals' fibrous nature also produces a noticeable cat's eye-like schiller as well!!! While the specimen exhibits a violet purple color in the pics, the specimen has a slightly darker,more magenta-purple color in person!!! Rare old time material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
