Antlerite Chuquicamata Mine, Calama, El Loa Province, Antofagasta Region, Chile 13.2cm x 7.03cm x 4.58cm Ex. A. E. Foote

Description/Interesting Notes: A classic, old time example of this rare copper species from Chile!!! This specimen hosts a dense network of bright, electric green veins of antlerite aesthetically meandering through the matrix!!! The antlerite is an intense, fiery emerald green that is quite striking in person!!! This specimen retains an old A.E. Foote label affixed to the reverse (as well as a substantial price tag for the time as well!)!!! The Foote label identifies the specimen as brochantite, however, it has later been determined to be the much rarer related species antlerite!!! These magnificent antlerite specimens were all produced long ago and are seldom seen on the market today!!! A magnificent and showy example of this rare classic!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
