Apatite (Fluorapatite)

Golconda pegmatite, Governador Valadares, Doce valley, Minas Gerais, Brazil

2.43cm x 1.54cm x 1.5cm

Description/Interesting Notes:

A gorgeous example of apatite from Brazil!!! This specimen consists of a cluster of doubly terminated crystals that exhibit a fantastic blue to purple color!!! The crystals have sharp, glassy faces with gemmy clarity!!! There is a small amount of muscovite in association as well!!! The crystals exhibit a striking, intense deep blue color with a single, seemingly random area of lively purple in the main crystal (there are also some purple apatite on the muscovite crystal on the reverse)!!! The overall effect is quite stunning in person!!! A very showy and uniquely colored example of apatite from Brazil!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!! Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY JUNE 30th!!!
