Description/Interesting Notes:
A magnificent example of apatite from this classic locality!!! This specimen consists of a large single crystal of apatite that hosts a
cluster of small calcite crystals and a single quartz crystal on the reverse!!! The apatite crystal has sharp faces, gemmy clarity, glassy luster, and absolutely incredibly color!!!
Let me start off by saying that this specimen was quite difficult to capture in the pictures - for some reason the color shows up much different
in the pictures than it does in person!!! The specimen exhibits a marked color change depending on the lighting as well - in sunlight and full spectrum
fluorescent lighting this specimen exhibits a gorgeous
two-tone blue to blue green color while under incandescent lighting it exhibits a more grayish blue color!!! In person, when you see this specimen in natural lighting
you could literally confuse it for a tourmaline or particularly colorful aquamarine - the sunlight color is simply incredible!!! In either
lighting this is a gorgeous specimen from this classic locality!!! This classic beauty is in magnificent condition all around and displays fantastically!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED SATURDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 5-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY SEPTEMBER 8th!!!
