Argentopyrite with Proustite Pöhla, Schwarzenberg District, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany 5.8cm x 3.74cm x 1.65cm Ex. J. Cilen Collection No. 4931

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of this rare silver-bearing species from Germany!!! This is the opposing half to the other argentopyrite specimen we recently listed!!! This specimen is LOADED with prismatic crystals of this rare silver sulphide!!! This specimen hosts a broad vug that is completely lined with well defined crystals of argentopyrite!!! The argentopyrite crystals have a gun-metal gray color and there is a small area where the crystals are slightly iridescent as well!!! The crystals are very well formed and are sharper than they appear in the pics!!! There are a few tiny crystals of proustite scattered amongst the argentopyrite crystals and there are numerous reddish masses of proustite embedded in the silvery matrix as well!!! The argentopyrite crystals are well formed and undamaged!!! The pics hardly capture just how fine this specimen is!!! The reverse of the specimen hosts numerous small vugs lined with more tiny argentopyrite crystals in addition to some whitish-purple microcrystalline fluorite and a few tiny proustite crystals!!! This is a killer example of the species!!! This specimen is from the collection of Joe Cilen!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
