Description/Interesting Notes:
A fantastic, old time example of this very rare silver germanium sulphide from the type locality in Germany!!! These
historic argyrodite specimens from Himmelsfurst date to latter half of the 1800's and are extremely rare today!!! This
specimen consists of somewhat botryoidal groups of argyrodite crystals in association with minor pyrite!!! It actually
appears that there were two large, interpenetrant octahedral crystals of argyrodite that have been covered with an almost
botryoidal layer of argyrodite crystals!!! Upon
close inspection in person one can find numerous sharp crystal
faces scattered about the rounded subhedral forms!!! There is
much more to see upon close study with a loupe or scope!!! Simply an outstanding example of this rare and sought after species!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
