A very rare, old time example of argyrodite from Germany!!! Argyrodite is a very rare silver bearing species
comprised of silver and germanium!!! This specimen is comprised largely of argyrodite in association with some pyrite!!!
The crystals are present as near-botryoidal groups, however this particular specimen also
exhibits numerous sharp cubic crystal forms jutting out prominently from the botryoidal clusters!!! The crystallization is
very fine for the species and additional cubic forms can be seen upon close inspection with a loupe or scope!!! Simply a magnificent
example of this very rare species!!!
These specimens date to the late 1800's!!! This specimen is from the A.E.
Seaman Mineral Museum!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
