Description/Interesting Notes:
A unique, old time example of atacamite from Australia!!! This specimen consists of a group of complex, intergrown crystals of
atacamite - some of which are pseudomorphs or partial pseudomorphs!!! The atacamite crystals are quite large and have intense, electric green color (the pics
don't even come close to capturing the lively green color)!!! The crystals appear to have naturally rounded features in areas that are not due to damage or wear!!! While the
front (or top) of the specimen hosts fine, unaltered crystals of slightly bluish, emerald green crystals of atacamite the reverse (or bottom) of the specimen grades into
crystals that are complete pseudomorphs!!! The pseudomorphic species is thought to be chalcocite (but this has not been confirmed)!!! This is a
fascinating specimen indeed - with complete atacamite crystals on one side, that are impressive in and of themselves - and complete pseudomorphs
of the same crystals on the reverse!!! This specimen came out of old collection material!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must
be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
