Description/Interesting Notes:
A gorgeous example of aurichalcite from this classic locality!!! This specimen consists of an unusually thick, dense network of aurichalcite crystals richly intergrown with
rosasite that hosts a highly complex group of water-clear calcite crystals!!! While aurichalcite is more commonly seen as fragile, acicular crytals - this specimen is comprised of an unusually
thick network of bright, turquoise-colored crystals of aurichalcite!!! Additionally, these
aurichalcite crystals are richly intergrown with intensely colored blue-green rosasite!!! The combination has created a specimen that has a truly unique aesthetic - this specimen is
simply gorgeous in person, with truly incredible color!!! The calcite crystal is remarkably complex and so clear that some of it is difficult to even see (and some is included with aurichalcite and rosasite as well)!!!
Upon close inspection the crystal appears to actually have two distinct twin planes as well!!! In person this crystal is in superb condition and very showy in and of itself!!! THis specimen is truly unique in person - it is a quite showy
indeed!!! This specimen came out of an older collection that was acquired between the 1950's and 1970's!!! The pics don't
even come close to doing it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
