An absolutely stunning example of this intensely colorful uranium species!!! Unquestionably
one of the most aesthetic French autunites I have seen in quite some time!!! This specimen consists of an amazing network of square blades of
autunite arranged in concentric forms and curious tube-like structures in addition to several large sharp books of crystals!!! The autunite crystals
range in color from an incredibly bright and intense "highlighter" yellow to an almost glowing yellow-green!!! The largest crystals show
surprising luster and sharpness for crystals of that size!!! To see such an aesthetic, old time beauty, and in such pristine condition it is
truly a rarity indeed!!! In my opinion, this is among of the most impressive specimens in the entire Pohl Collection!!! These pics don't come
anywhere close to doing it justice!!! Guaranteed to knock your socks off!!! In a single word... WOW!!!
Wolfgang Pohl worked in the mining industry in Namibia in the 70s and 80s and was a prolific
collector and dealer during and after this time!!! He would make trips back and forth to his
native Germany trading specimens he had acquired in Africa for worldwide specimens!!! Pohl
was rather meticulous with his labeling and record keeping with most of the specimens in the
collection having catalogue numbers, label with info on locale, source/dealer info,
acquisition date, and any other relevant notes!!! However, the most interesting feature is
that most of the labels also had a small sketch of the specimen on the reverse side as
well!!! I will be listing many exciting specimens from this collection, in addition to the
usual and far ranging array of specimens, in the upcoming weeks - so don't miss out!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
STAY TUNED! - More fantastic auctions will be listed this Thursday evening, and Saturday evening for a special 5-Day auction ending at the regular time on Thursday evening, November 29th!!! Don't miss out!!!
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!
