Azurite specimens from Butte are quite scarce indeed, and this specimen is one of the best examples of azurite I have seen from Butte!!! This specimen hosts a rich covering of intense, royal blue azurite with a small amount of light green malachite in association!!! The azurite has terrific, almost glistening, luster!!! The blue color is almost distinctive in person and it almost has a purplish tint to it!!! A unique, old time Butte azurite - and an exceptional one at that!!! This specimen is from the collection of noted Butte collector and scholar Bob Jenkins and retains its original label!!!
