Azurite and Malachite (1st oxidation zone) Tsumeb Mine, Namibia 4.7cm x 3.42cm x 1.82cm

Description/Interesting Notes: An old time example of azurite and malachite from Tsumeb!!! This is old material from the first oxidation zone at Tsumeb!!! This specimen consists of a complex azurite crystal that has been partially altered to malachite!!! The crystal has sharp, glassy faces and is completely terminated!!! There are numerous areas of azurite that have underlying areas of malachite alteration - the result is a striking blue color and an almost iridescent sheen within!!! The color is quite showy in person!!! While some of the azurite is altered to malachite, there are curious areas of actual botryoidal malachite present on the azurite as well!!! In addition to the azurite and malachite, there are numerous areas of slightly darker green olivenite present as well!!! This specimen is in fantastic condition all around!!! Old material!!!
