An incredible example of azurite and malachite with chrysocolla from Cornwall, Pennsylvania!!! A killer old time classic!!! This specimen was in the collection
of Dr. John Ward (b.1840)!!! This specimen consists of a mass of blue azurite accented by malachite and areas of crystalline azurite!!! In addition, there are
several areas of INTENSE blue chrysocholla!!! At first, I thought this chrysocolla was chalcanthite, because it had such significant translucence and was so intensely colorful!!!
However, it is most certainly not water soluble chalcanthite!!! Truly incredible material indeed!!! There are also areas on the specimen that appear superficially similar
to cyanotrichite and carbonate-cyanotrichite when they are compressed!!! This specimen is way better than the pictures show!!! An amazing Pennsylvania
treasure indeed!!!
