Description/Interesting Notes: A gorgeous, old time example of azurite from Idaho!!! This specimen consists of a large, broad plate covered with intense, bright blue crystals of azurite!!! Upon close examination, the azurite crystals can be seen as intergrown groups of blades as well as radiating balls of bladed crystals!!! There also appears to be some slightly stalactitic forms as well!!! The azurite has particularly intense and showy color!!! Upon close inspection with a scope or loupe, one can see that some of the crystals have areas of microscopic internal alteration to malachite, which may play a role in its lively color!!! This specimen is very showy in person, although it is difficult to tell from the pics, the blue color is quite unique!!! Simply gorgeous in person!!! Rare old time material!!!
