Description/Interesting Notes:
An aesthetic, rare old time example of azurite with arsentsumebite pseudomorphs after azurite from Tsumeb!!! Let
me start off by saying that this specimen actually came from Mandy's personal collection that was sold years ago to
Ian Bruce and Wayne Leicht!!! We recently acquired a suite of specimens from a collector and were excited to learn that
this specimen was part of the group!!! This specimen is OLD Tsumeb material and consists of a
group of rare arsentsumebite pseudomorphs after azurite crystals that hosts numerous complex, brilliantly lustrous
azurite crystals perched among them!!! Arsentsumebite pseudomorphs after azurite are extremely rare in comparison to the
ubiquitous malachite pseudomorphs from Tsumeb!!! The green color is dramatically more intense and the crystals are quite
sparkly as well!!! Upon close inspection with a scope or loupe, one can see that the individual aresentsumebite crystals are extremely well
formed for the species - with razor-sharp, glassy, gemmy, intense emerald green crystals clearly visible!!! One can see
both very fine individual crystals as well as balls of sharply formed, intergrown crystals!!! The azurite crystals have
gorgeous deep blue color with lots of bright royal blue highlights within!!! The azurite crystals have
brilliant, glassy luster and sharp, complex forms that are slightly curved and twisted in a most aesthetic fashion!!!
There is also some unidentified, bright yellow microcrystalline mineral present as well!!! The arsentsumebite pseudomorphs
are sharply formed and one can see much more detail in person than the pictures show!!! This specimen
is in magnificent condition and is absolutely stunning in person (this specimen was on display in our home)!!!
This specimen is as impressive for its aesthetics as it is for its rarity and fineness!!! This is classic, OLD
time Tsumeb material!!! This specimen will retain Mandy's original personal collection label as well as its
later Kristalle label and current label!!! You do not want to miss out on this rare and beautiful Tsumeb gem!!!
