Bariopyrochlore Panda Hill, Mbeya, Amboseli, Mbeya Region, Tanzania from 4mm to 7.2mm

Description/Interesting Notes: A very rare example of bariopyrochlore from the type locality in Tanzania!!! This group of five specimens came from an old collection and represent fantastic examples of the species from the type locality!!! The crystals exhibit the characteristic features of the species, with their light color and curiously porous features!!! The type material was described as "crude to anhedral grains to 1mm" - these crystals are particularly fine for the locality!!! The crystals are more lustrous than they appear in the pics!!! The one with the largest cavities has curious prismatic forms inside when viewed with magnification as well!!! The pics hardly do them justice!!! Rare old material!!!
