Barite on Sphalerite Saint-Laurent-le-Minier, Gard, Languedoc-Roussillon, France 6.2cm x 5cm x 3.3cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A rare, old time example of barite from France!!! This specimen consists of a small amount of matrix, covered by tiny sphalerite crystals that hosts a striking almond-shaped ball of bladed barite crystals!!! The bright white barite crystals stand out in stark contrast from the matrix!!! The barite is pristine and undamaged!!! One end of the barite cluster appears to be somewhat pointed, while the other is slightly rounded - it is quite biological-looking in person!!! A fascinating and aesthetic specimen indeed!!!
