Barite (Baryte)
Magma Mine, Superior, Pioneer District, Pinal Mts, Pinal Co., Arizona
4.44cm x 3.3cm x 2.44cm
Ex. University of Delaware Mineral Museum
Description/Interesting Notes:
A classic example of barite from Arizona!!! This specimen consists of a pair of intergrown barite crystals!!! The
crystals exhibit characteristic golden color and have particularly thick, chunky form for the locality!!! This is OLD
material and rarely do you see examples that exhibit such form!!! When viewed directly through the face, one can
see that the crystal has some concentric banding and gemmy clarity!!! This specimen is from the University of Delaware Mineral
Museum!!! Classic old time material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
