Description/Interesting Notes: A terrific example of barite from this unique South Dakota locality!!! This speicmen hosts a group of gem-clear amber brown crystals of barite proudly perched atop a matrix covered with golden translucent crystals of calcite!!! The barite crystals have sharp faces and brilliant glassy luster!!! There is some minor damage on the reverse of one of the crystals but the specimen displays quite handsomely nonetheless!!! This specimen is from the collection of Glenn Nicol and retains its original label as well!!! This specimen is from the personal collection of Bob Jenkins and retains its orginal personal collection label as well!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
