Barysilite with Willemite and Unknown Parker shaft, Franklin Mine, Franklin, Franklin Mining District, Sussex Co., New Jersey 2.2cm x 1.34cm x .87cm

Description/Interesting Notes: A magnificent example of this very rare species from Franklin!!! This specimen is comprised almost entirely of light purplish-pink barysilite in association with some gem willemite and a small amount of an unidentified mineral!!! This specimen consists of a dense group of intergrown platy crystals of light purplish-pink barysilite that have a glassy-pearly luster and a slight degree of translucence!!! The willemite is facet-grade gemmy and upon close inspection is actually very well crystallized - consisting of complexly etched crystals with bright glassy faces (in person the willemite is very impressive)!!! While the willemite is almost colorless in regular lighting, it fluoresces an intense green under SW UV!!! As you can see in the pictures, it fluoresces and intense green even when the lights are still on!!! There is a small amount of unidentified material present as well (particularly on the opposing side to the willemite) that does not fluoresce except for some minor peach colored accents (for some reason they didn't show up in the UV pics) and there are a few grains of an additional unidentified mineral embedded within it that fluoresce a particularly deep red color!!! Overall a fantastic example of this rare and sought-after Franklin rarity in aesthetic association with gem crystalline willemite (and some potentially interesting unknowns as well)!!!
