Description/Interesting Notes:
A rare example of becquerelite with uranophane from this classic locale!!! This specimen consists of a complex network of
intergrown uranophane and becquerelite!!! This specimen hosts a rich showing of bright yellow plates of uranophane with
several areas of intimately intergrown becquerelite!!! Although becquerelite is typically present as prismatic crystals - this specimen
hosts somewhat massive areas of darker yellow, slightly translucent becquerelite that are quite uncharacteristic!!! While I would
have never recognized this specimen to contain becquerelite, this specimen
came directly from Josef Vajdak (Vajdak had amassed a significant collection of radioactive species and did
extensive analytical work), who insisted that the two species are intergrown, and retains his original label as well!!! There is also
some unidentified green material in minor association as well!!! Rare material!!!
The pics hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!!
