Description/Interesting Notes:
An outstanding example of this rare beryllium species from Colorado!!! This specimen consists of a large single crystal of bertrandite in association with
numerous other smaller crystals of bertrandite as well!!! The crystals are lustrous, translucent, sharp, and complete!!!
In addition to the bertrandite crystals, there are some thin, partial crystals of hematite in association as well!!!
While this is an incredible
example of bertrandite from this locality, this specimen was originally offered to us as a bazzite specimen!!! There is a
small, complex, light blue crystal perched on the side of the specimen that was purported to be a bazzite crystal!!! Upon close examination with a
scope, the crystal is actually complete and undamged with complexly etched terminations and complex features!!! Its identity as a bazzite crystal
has not been confirmed, however I felt that this specimen was significant enough as a bertrandite crystal in and of itself to warrant its acquisition (I
consider the "possible" bazzite simply a bonus)!!! All in all, this is a magnificent Mt. Antero bertrandite in every regard!!! The pics
hardly do it justice!!! Must be seen in person to be fully appreciated!!!
Good luck and be sure to check out my other exciting mineral auctions on ebay!!! STAY TUNED!!! MORE AUCTIONS WILL BE ADDED MONDAY NIGHT FOR A SPECIAL 3-DAY AUCTION, ENDING THURSDAY FEBRUARY 24th!!!
