Beryl on Microcline San Piero in Campo, Campo nell'Elba, Elba Island, Livorno Province, Tuscany, Italy 2.9cm x 2.6cm x 1.9cm Ex. A. F. Holden Collection (1863-1913)

Description/Interesting Notes: A fantastic, old time example of goshenite beryl from this historic locale!!! This specimen consists of a sharp, gemmy crystal of colorless goshenite beryl prominently perched on a matrix of white microcline!!! The crystal has razor sharp, brilliantly lustrous glassy faces and a complexly modified termination!!! The crystal has gem clarity - allowing one to see a prominent crystalline inclusion in the center of the crystal!!! This striking inclusion has razor-sharp definition and appears to have a reverse scepter form that widens dramatically toward the bottom!!! Simply a fantastic, old time Elba gem!!! This specimen retains an old label from the collection of famed mineralogist A.F. Holden (1863-1913) with affixed catalogue numbers as well!!! The pics hardly do it justice!!!
